I'm not saying we need to draft Hooker. I liked him before his injury. I'm saying that we have NO backup QB on the roster. Right now, if Stafford got hurt Kupp would be our QB. My point was that if we go by only NEEDS and the biggest ones first then a QB is the must get. I am of the BPA philosophy myself because if you take the top talent every pick even if they are all at one position, and you hit, you can trade your depth for players you need plus if you don't re-sign them you get higher comp picks when they leave. There will be a few players who few thought would be available as they were rated first rounders that will fall to us. We'll all go crazy yelling at the tv with our favorites and the Rams will pick somebody we haven't heard of. Happens every time, but, our brain trust seems to know what they're doing so I accept that I'm merely a passenger and should enjoy the ride.
We have no backup QB on the roster, true.
Nor do we have the following:
P
K
LS
Credible edge (maybe 2 of them)
Credible starting CB to replace Ramsey.
Credible 2nd RB
Credible #2 WR
Plus the following ‘not sure they are starter caliber’ positions:
DL to replace Gaines and ARob
Is Durant good enough?
S to replace Scott?
OG(s) that are good enough?
But I’m sure Snead is aware of all of this far more than you and I and he will have made every effort to fill all those positions and answer those last 4 questions before opening day. Until then, I recommend that we not lose sleep over such obvious questions.
