not seeing it.....

which brings up this.

as a team such as the Rams are doing....

utterly eliminating as many hard costs on the cap as possible......

When does the NFL adjust the floor for some veterans?
I know they tried to something along this lines before....
The NFL was trying to give guys who are veterans and possible depth players or deep roster guys a chance a making a team because their minimum doesn't hard charge the cap.

Of course, plenty of guys probably aren't even seen in a light as an asset over a youngster with a "higher ceiling." OTOH, there are guys that know the league, know what it takes, know the playbook, and may just need one last opportunity.

Will the league eventually allow for a vet with a least 3 years experience play at the "floor minimum" and have an exemption on being charged against the cap at all? With a 17 game season it sure seems that some allowances are in order.

BTW, not suggesting that JJ fits that mold by a long, long shot. Just wondering about getting guys a shot at some $$$ that is equal to a later rookie contract.
