Class move by them...maybe not the smartest football move but I believe the smartest move in the long run and overall.
Players appreciate that sort of thing, the more good things the Rams do for players the more likely players are to want to play for them.
I think you might be giving the Rams too much credit for ‘class’ here, Rusty.
The article indicates that Ramsey had all the leverage as to which team he would go to and used it. Rams hands were somewhat tied and they just made the best deal they could given extremely limited options.
Negotiations are always about leverage and this one was a perfect example.
Not that I blame Ramsey, mind you, I would have done the same thing if he were my client.
