Always remember that typically the best thing a team can do in free agency is do nothing for the first 7 days. The vast majority of early FA signings will be regretted 2 years later. Every day that Gaines and ARob are still out there makes the Rams more able to compete to keep one of them.

Historically some of the Rams best FA acquisitions have been several weeks into FA. Remember DE William Hayes for example. Rams signed P Riley Dixon on April 5th last year.
