Due to the season and how it flowed, yes he was more than advertised within his play overall, but he was also brought here to elevate the team. The injuries are not at his feet, but I can't see him being a 1 year rental and having a 5-12 season anywhere close to a success. You can look at how he developed Jones I suppose, but that can't be seen until 2023 starts and goes forward. You also can't make a judgement of how Jones plays in 2023 compared to 2022 in the sense of how much he would have excelled (if at all) without Wags not being in the lineup but Jones playing closer to 100% of the time....Would Jones have had improvement playing without Wags, but getting a full time job.....could he have as much improvement playing under Wags or learning on his own with more playing time.....
Wags was a good player on a depleted team but in the end they had 5 wins total.....His true success could have only been seen with a healthy or mostly healthy group out there with him.....He had a successful season, but how much does that translate when the team around him sunk?
