Again, for those who are serious
Offenses can get complicated, but pre snap
the receivers are numbered from outside
in---but what if they cross?
There is where they start (ORIGINAL) and where they
end up (FINAL)
So, in this you can see in quarters the
safeties have the FINAL #2s which
could be the original #2 or the original
#1 . . .
In a match you read the concept - what
the routes are,t hen you know who your
man is.
match zone is match man and vice versa
it starts in zone and BECOMES man
So all these misnomers floating around
it's good for people with good faith
to understand those things
Now, in this case if one or both of the
original #1s cut inside, then the outside
CBs are then in zone, they have the
outside 1/4 . . and "Look for work"
probably some combination of the
original #2s cutting outside
if the original #1s stay outside they have
that guy in man.
Original #3 flares to the flat and the
original #2 cuts inside, and runs the hole in the
middle the MIKE has him man to man.
I get that there are a few that don't care
about understanding things but there
are plenty who do and want to call things
by their correct terminology.
And vast majority of people are curious
about football on boards like this, though
always a couple of holdouts.
here is the diagram for match Quarters
