Old not dead's takes are not that strong. He has an unhealthy Morris hate and it just isn't fair. He just seems to cobble some Rah crap together and throw it at the wall. I do think what you mentioned is interesting however only for the fact that they got canned and I am not even sure what they did.
Why would the Rams fire Morris? The players love and respect him big time, just watched a video he did with Ryan Clark and Fred Taylor a couple of really good NFL players and they love and respect him. Great conversation by some really good people.
As much as I tire of this scheme it's what the Boss wants. It can be a great scheme with the right players, for example, the Rams last season winning SB 56. The Rams D was solid and aggressive in the playoffs.
People need to stop and ask why the Rams played it the way they did last year. Injuries, no edge pressure to speak of from one side. Poor CB play overall and a star having a down year. Injuries to safties hurt. What a disappointment the S from Utah turned out to be. The Rams needed to limit points by the other team (I know how basic) but really had to slow play the game. If they give up big points and explosive plays they have no shot. The Rams O was just so bad that they couldn't afford to give anything away. The only shot the Rams had was for the D to get a stop and for the O to get some FGs and try to mix in a TD and hang on in a low-scoring game. It goes against everything the NFL wants right now passing the ball and scoring TDs. The Rams knew they couldn't win a game with 28 to 30 points, they simply couldn't. Had no shot until Baker showed up and had the miracle game against the Raiders.
The Rams were dead and they knew it...they stayed in the game by slow playing it and hoping the D can keep them in it. The Rams were boring, the Rams were lousy, and the Rams weren't any fun to watch...but the Rams didn't embarrass themselves after a season like that.
There is just so much more to it than Rah sucks and he is soft...He has a boss and McVay isn't firing Morris McVay fires coaches who don't perform.
