I don't know if it matters who our DC is, I don't think you'll see any changes made.

He brought in Morris, a guy who never ran this defense, to run this defense.
Regardless who calls the formations, the base defense will always be this one unless they can convince McVay otherwise.
In regard to the soft coverage, McVay's whole football philosophy is about the "chunk play". Getting them on offense, preventing them on defense.
How do you avoid giving up the long ball? By playing your DB's deep.
As has been pointed out, it was this way under Staley, it'll be this way under Morris, or his successor.
So bring on Henderson or Leonhard or whomever. I suspect there won't be much difference.
