is Charbonnet that guy? How big of a back do you want?
Reason I ask is this:
Charbonnet is supposedly 6'-1" 220 lbs. Cam Akers at the combine was 5'-11" 217.
So is 3 lbs really a big deal? And if Charbonnet is really 2 inches taller, those 3 lbs still make him thinner than Akers.
At the combine, Akers ran the 4th fastest 40 at 4.47, lifted 20 reps, the 8th most and his 217 lbs came in as tied for the 8th heaviest RB at the combine. There were 30 RBs at the combine (a few didn't run fyi).
I'm just curious what everyone's bench mark for a big, physical back is.
Do I prefer a 6' 225 lb rb? yes, but at 5'-11" and 217, how much are you losing?
Or is it a power thing?
I've always been someone who thought the idea of Akers being small was over stated. He's bigger than dalvin cook and not much smaller than Mixon. For me it's more about how Charbonnet runs and not how big he is. Being 220 helps, but he's an incredibly physical runner. That's something the Rams haven't really had since Gurley. If you need one yard I don't think you'll stuff Charbonnet. If you're facing a team that plays physically and you want a run game to match, I think you could give Charbonnet 60 percent of the carries that game. Etc.
