Well, it's a smart way to think isn't it? A lot of us will probably be dead in 10-15 years so what's the point?
Seriously though. Then point is that we could still have won over the "kiddies" without neutering the horn! 2 SB appearances, a winning team with very marketable players playing in a billion dollar stadium would have been enough to win over the kiddies IMO.
There was no need to neuter the horn the way they did. I am fine with a rebrand as I feel most people are but if you are going to do a rebrand on an ICONIC uni and helmet design that has HISTORICAL significance...and it does...you better hit it out of the park.
IMO, they failed at that part. I would be willing to bet money that Crazylegs' designs would have been liked/accepted by more people than what Demoff came up with.
I've said it before. A simple poll or two with the fans voting on several designs would have gone a long way in pleasing the masses both young and old. They do it for mascot names, team names. This was THE biggest mistake of the rebrand.
Demoff thought he knew better than the masses but based on the reactions around the release, he obviously was wrong. He could have been a hero but now he's just a zero!
Here's one way to fix it...
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
