That extra no.1 might come into play here. If the Rams are struggling at LT in first few weeks and Jackson isn’t close to returning.by Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
O-line depth. Couple of O-line injuries, especially to the tackles (Shelton signing offers cover in the interior), and we could be in trouble. Surprised, and a little concerned, the Rams did nothing to improve depth at O-tackle.by Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
I really enjoy reading the draft posts by yourself and Alyo. Amazing work by you both. Thank you.by Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
Also, all the press a while back about how the Rams want to extend Williams early. Rams did almost word-for-word the same thing about Earnest Jones last year, and then he was gone in training camp. I'd guess drafting Hunter is partly just in case Williams' agent is asking for the Earth. If so, Rams might move on.by Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
AJ Arcuri currently listed as the backup at LT.by Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
That's the head scratcher for me. Havenstein in last year of contract. Mclendon was very patchy last season when he filled in. CB - sounds like Ramsey may be coming in, OK. But to ignore the tackle spot feels an odd one.by Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
If they love Hunter, fine, do the trade up and pick him. What I don't understand is them doing this a year after they spent a third on Blake Corum.by Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
'the team that had the #1 ranked defense added the best ILB in the draft ' We don't know yet that Campbell is the best ILB in the draft. A lot of talented first round picks don't work out. The UCLA kid could end up being the best ILB in this draft. Or the Oklahoma ILB. As ever with draft moves, if this was a good choice or not will only really be clear in a few years' time. If Campbell becoby Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
Having fully overthought it, I think I want Conerly or Simmons at 26. Here's the thinking: Havenstein is in final year of deal, is getting on, and misses a few games each season. Mclendon, when he had to start last season, gave up multiple sacks/hits on Stafford. A redshirt talented tackle who can step in when needed - hugely important. Last two seasons the Rams have started badly, coachingby Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com

This is about blocking, right? McVay traditionally stays in 11 personnel and doesn't like subbing in and out so he wants WRs out there who can block, and Tutu's light frame... That's the main reason he's not been on the field enough. If they're paying him $10m this year then you'd hope they're going to play him more to stretch the field.by Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
Tutu for one year at $10m is obviously their 'field stretcher' this year. I imagine they draft a fast WR this year somewhere to learn and take on that role next season.by Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
General line on this draft seems to be that there's about 6-10 blue chip players and the next 40 players every team will have a different grade on. One team's 12th graded player could be another team's 50th. On the one hand that suggests try and trade back and get more picks, because there won't be much in quality between picks 26 and picks 50. But the same logic means a player like Mason Tby Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
Everything you read about Starks being like an extra coach on the field - you could see McVay falling in love with that. Safety might not be a glaring need but if Starks is there at 26 I could see them going that way. Plus he can cover the slot.by Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com

McVay talked about getting more explosive. For all Kyren's strengths he is not the speediest. Corum and Rivers seem similar in that regard. Be good to add a RB who can potentially take one to the house. Who's a late round RB who has the wheels to do that?by Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
A Super Bowl where the Rams couldn't get one yard running the ball, it felt like. Also interesting that the Bears felt that their main issue this offseason was upgrading the middle of their O-line. Signing two new guards and a new center, letting Shetlon walk. Good depth signing with familiarity but I'd not be shocked if Limmer is still the starting C.by Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think that was the key word for McVay at end of season. The offense needs to be more explosive. Kupp and Puka starting was too similar. Too slow, frankly. I think he wants to stretch defenses more. That's why he doesn't want to lose Tutu. That's why if Puka stays, Kupp goes (plus cap reasons with Kupp). Does Tutu fit McVay's 11-personnel ethos? Nope. He traditionally doesn't like subbing peoby Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
The Eagles just showed that the best D-line and O-line wins the big games. If you consider that the Rams should be drafting very late next season or two, then I'd give up two number ones for Garrett. Absolutely. Imagine Verse, Fiske, Turner and Garrett with Young subbing in and out. Also there seems to be an awareness that there's not really more than a couple of Blue Chip players in this dby Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
". I am not interested in Burden" What's your thinking on Burden, Alyo?by Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
Out of curiosity, regardless of needs elsewhere, if Walter Nolan is there at 26 do you take him? Am aware of the impact a Jalen Carter and Chris Jones has for Eagles/Chiefs. Add him to Verse, Fiske, Turner, Youngby Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
Patriots have $131million cap space next season - and already have a young franchise QB in place. You'd think whatever we bid for Tee Higgins they could out-spend us. Raiders and Commanders also have over $100million cap space next season... Rams currently have $56mill. I guess it depends where he wants to go. But he'll have suitors with more cash to spend.by Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
No one's getting open, aside from Puka. Kupp, sadly, seems to have hit the age/injury wall. D Robinson has vanished the last few weeks. Tutu's in a contract year and I'd be amazed if we offered him a 2nd deal. You could make a strong case for Tight End or Tackle (especially if they let Alaric walk, which would be a mistake). But this entire year it's felt like the passing game is playing wiby Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
Parkinson was signed because he was considered one of the best young run-blocking tight ends in the league. Along with signing Dotson and Jackson to big money deals, the Rams were intending to be very run-heavy this season, clearly. Parkinson was never going to be the next Travis Kelce. Injuries have kind of blown up the plan. We currently have a rookie sixth rounder starting at center and Bruby Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
Last season, given the talent on the roster, to get the Rams to the standard that McVay & co did was one of the most impressive coaching jobs I can remember. It's virtually the same coaching staff. So saying they are poorly coached - I don't buy it. The Defense is, iirc, the lowest paid in the league by some considerable margin. The two inside linebackers being the ultimate example of tby Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
The value of these particular draft picks is getting skewed by the market value of the position. And a pass-rushing DT is currently more valuable than ever in cap room terms than it has probably ever been. Justin Madubuike just got a 4 year $98 Mill deal. Chris Jones' new deal is $31m a year Christian Wilkins is on $24m a year. Now, if Fiske ends up anything like those players, who knby Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
I doubt he drops to 19 but was watching Bowers highlights and the player his movement reminds me of most isn't a TE at all. It's Kupp. Very much doubt McVay would be able to resist if he is there somehow.by Glyndwr71 - RamsFootballFans.com
