I hope I never meet Roman and sstrams in person.... these guys have a 'dark' side suggesting those two movies.
Watched The Tenant first... very reminiscent of "Roseymary's Baby". Very well made and Roman18 described it well... slowly building tension foregoing, (for the most part), those shocking sudden hits... it just allows the terror to slowly stew.
Then The Descent - almost didn't watch this movie because that first scene, (if you saw it you'll know what I mean), made it quite clear there would be very few 'feel good' moments in this film.
. I had an odd reaction to this movie... it was SO depressing, and grew more so by the second... that I couldn't help thinking, "Oh Geez someone just shoot them all and put them out of their misery". Not sure why but nothing makes me wince more than 'rope burns'.... as far as 'pain'. I think the movie killed any desire I ever had for spelunking.
Ok, definitely need a break from horror films after last night.
