For whatever reason our rhythm guitar player once turned to me during a practice session and said something like, "how do you do that? How can you play 4 different things at the same time, two arms two legs?" His question confused me... for a couple of reasons. First... it doesn't seem all that difficult to me and Second - he's doing something, (on the guitar), even more amazing... at least to me. He's not just doing two things different, left hand right hand, but you have to count fingers as well... so in my mind he's doing more different things at once than I am.
My point being... what I brought up in the above topic... I believe we are all most 'amazed' by that which we can't do, or do well. Example... yes, some drummers amaze me but I can play the drums (poorly but I can play a little)... so I am not really 'awed' by great drummers nearly as much as I am awed by great keyboardists, or guitar players, neither of which I can play at all.
