If yours is like mine, then..

your readout won't be the nice 16 blocks looking thingy.. you'll hit the "next" button and go through the segments that are named something like this:

348
372

472

Count them up - there are 16 number step 1 through step 4 - each is broken up into 4 equal sections.. 4 beats, 4 sections = 16.. 16 blocks, just like the diagram.. So, maybe if you kind of look at the diagram I drew, then look at these numbers, you can align them up more easily.. just remember the steps 1, 2, 3, 4.. that's if you counted the measure 1, 2, 3, 4..


For Living After Midnight:
bass drum would be in 100
snare would be in 200
bass in 300
bass in 348
snare in 400

hi-hats would be on the first step 100 and then every other step after that.. if you just put them on steps 1, 2, 3, 4, you have slow hi-hats.. put them also in the "48" position on each step and you've got double time hi-hats..
