because I can't really put my finger on it either.
But as I said above, (not to you).... studying acting, a little about film making... gave me a great appreciation for how the greats make movies... and I think most interesting to me 'how film making evolved'.
For example.. I absolutely LOVE how today's directors during interviews make mention of older directors, movies, and the influence they had on them. Like Scorsese intently studying John Ford. MANY who mimicked Hitchcock.
Of course that's intimidating as well... they'll mention something so 'subtle' that I missed it completely so I end up thinking, "I'm an idiot".
