Re: No, I'm not saying that....

"How often today does the manager say, on the the spur of the moment, "to hell with the analytics"?"

Obviously some do. Roberts not so much.

You wrote:"You CAN say that when everyone is the same nothing much changes."

That I disagree with. The Dodgers appear to have proved otherwise-since they use analytics more than any other club and have been tremendously successful. But Can we prove that ? Not until years of years of studying since all teams now have the availability of analytics. Right now IMO the Dodgers are in the lead. And if they lose tomorrow night that won't disprove my point since its just one game.

Once again I don't like the way the Dodgers or ANY team is using analytics. To me it takes away the athleticism of teams and relies more on computer generated data. As you say "why not just use robots". What is bothersome is that many kids today who are interested in sports are watching sports that are played by robots. Look at soccer. There are games by robots showing soccer players running around with some pointing thing are there heads so that their play can be controlled by the "gamer". Same with football, baseball, basketball, etc. We are living in a digital world and all that it can "accomplish" (so to speak).
