In a 5 game series if you have two elite pitchers either one of whom is better than the best pitcher on the other team-you have quite the advantage. The only way to handle that is to try and keep the game very close until you can reach their bullpen-because usually paying the big money for elite starting pitchers means you can't use that money for lights out relievers. Unfortunately that shortens games to 2-3 innings as opposed to 9.
