I was nearly always in 'new' schools...

very old now, obviously, but when I attended they were 'state of the art'.

Not sure exactly when my grammar school was built but it was shortly before I attended, replacing the original built in the early 1900's. the Kindergarten class was actually brand new, I was in the first Kindergarten class in Tranquillity.

The High School had also been recently remodeled... except for the main building which was quite old, and beautiful. It was torn down, I believe, my Jr. year and replaced. I think I had only one class in the old building before it was torn down... much of the main building had been condemned, like the theater - and speaking of the theater...

It was gorgeous. Sloped seating, a balcony.. much like those old movie theaters with quite ornate decor on the walls, ceiling, etc. I had attended various functions in that theater before I entered High School... and when I DID attend High School I would sneak into it past the "Stay Out" signs just to marvel at it's splendor. - JamesJM
