Re: They say what started it yet ?

There has been constant work done on Notre Dame for centuries. I saw the large scaffold on the roof and thought the same thing, that something the repairmen did started it. But there has been no word as to how it started. The fire has been burning for hours so things aren't looking good. Unfortunately the 400 firemen who responded were hampered by evening rush hour traffic, the height of the building, and the fact that Paris doesn't allow air traffic over the city (they couldn't try to douse it from the air). I imagine the church is a total loss or close to it. It will never, ever, EVER be the same, even if they manage to restore it. It's way too early at this point to know what will happen. The fire isn't even under control yet. It is truly heartbreaking to see this happen. Who would have ever dreamed that it would?
