On all my motorcycle trips across the USA one of THE most impressive and heart-warning sights were the many minor league stadium throughout the mid-west. Jewels! They were gorgeous.
And, at least in my mind, when I saw Busch Stadium it became for me the pinnacle, dare I say 'heart', of the great American Pastime.
Been reading a few autobiographies.... even some fiction novels... with the baseball circuit as the backdrop. Tales about the bus trips and train rides across the mid-west by baseball players - the hotels they stayed in, the diners they ate in. The sights, sounds, and smells of their lives while striving to make it to the majors. One can really lose oneself into that world.
I've never been in Busch stadium, only seen it from the outside... with you, remember? I can only imagine the joy of attending regularly, then introducing your children to the experience, then your grandkids.. perhaps your great-grandkids. - JamesJM
