I had 'heard' of this...

January 03, 2019 09:52AM
but knew almost nothing about it. First let me say... so sorry, Steve, that has to be hell.

What about Cortisone? Not sure of the spelling. Isn't that supposed to relieve this type of pain? As I understand it it's temporary BUT can last a few weeks. I have a few relatives who take those shots regularly and swear by them. Which leads me to this:

Anyone else notice that doctors are cutting back on all drugs/medicines? My doctor almost WILL NOT prescribe any medication at all... always suggesting some 'herbal' remedy that he says 'might help'. This last time I had swimmers ear it was BAD... anyone who has had acute swimmers ear will tell you it's one of the most painful things you can go thru. My doctor didn't even want to give me antibiotics for it, much less pain pills. It was only at the point of high danger that my ear drum was going to burst that he put me on antibiotics... and by then it was so late they had to give me 3 different types and each the strongest made. He only gave me pain pills, (and only enough for two days), when I begged for them.
