Freese has a 6 million dollar team option, I sure hope they pick that up.
Yeah not sure what to say about Kershaw. It would be nice to have him finish his career a Dodger, but he's definitely not worth the money he is being paid. His post season failures have become just normal. Having post season success certainly is less and less likely every year, as his velocity continues to dip. If he was failing when he threw 95, he certainly is more likely to fail when he is only hitting 90 on the gun.
I'm also concerned about Kenley. Hes got alot of miles on that arm and certainly had a down year. He just hasn't came through for us on the biggest stage the last 2 years, much like Kershaw. Hopefully he bounces back. Of course more importantly than baseball, hopefully his heart surgery goes well and he lives a long and healthy life without heart issues going forward.
It is very exciting to think of Buehler and Urias being the new cornerstones of our rotation starting next year. Hopefully Friedman spends some money on the bullpen this offseason, as patching a bullpen together year after year isn't prudent. We definitely need a couple of arms to help Kenley.
All in all, even though we probably got beat by the better team, losing another WS is very deflating. It is so hard to reach the top of the mountain, and to lose it two years in a row just stings.
