We've been fostering a Basset/Corgi mix dog named Beulah for the last 3 weeks.. I didn't think I would get that attached to her, but she's, literally, the perfect dog.. so sweet, smart, patient.. We're fostering for an organization called Underdog Express.. They will pick her up today at 1pm and then transport her and about 50 other Texas dogs to New York.. Apparently in New York its tough to adopt dogs, so people line up around the block to adopt these dogs from Texas..
Its so hard.. I already think of her as my daughter and I hate not knowing who will adopt her.. will they dump her in the wilderness if they don't want her? Will they treat her right? I dunno.. With all the stuff we are sending with her, we include a thank you note with our contact information, but the adopters are not obligated to contact us.. We did try to adopt her, but we signed a contract wo we know its impossible to adopt her now.. I just hate it and hope she goes to a good family.. but, I'll probably be wondering about her the rest of my life..
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
