Yeah, sorta. Juneau is an American Eskimo and since Juneau is the capital of Alaska, that's what I have named three of my American Eskimos since 1982 (I've had 6 American Eskimos over the past 36 years).

This Juneau is actually my 3rd "Juneau". Juneau #1 I had for 16 yrs before she finally died of old age. Juneau #2 I had for about 14 yr before she got cancer and died. The Juneau I have now will be my last dog (her official name is Juneau Finis). I've had her for almost 4 years. I got them all as puppies and named them all Juneau because I didn't want to have to learn a new dog name. How's that for lazy? I've had four female American Eskimo dogs (I had a couple of males for a while as well but I prefer females). I loved the personality of Juneau #2 the most. She was a great dog and I really miss her. The current Juneau is one weird little dog. She is not an affectionate dog at all. She doesn't ever lick us or nuzzle us and she never acts happy to see us like other dogs act with their owners. When we enter the house and she sees us, she barks at us like we're intruders when she can clearly see that it's us. It's annoying as heck. My daughter brings my grandson over 5 days a week and she barks at them every single morning like she's never seen them before. You'd think after 2 years of this she'd be used to the daycare routine, but noooooooo! Every morning it's the same thing. Juneau doesn't have a maternal bone in her body and treats 21-month old Everett like he's nothing more than a curiosity doubling as a nuisance. He crawls around chasing her trying to play with her like he does with his dog, Logan, a large, male lab mix. Everett can crawl all over their dog, fall on him, hug him, squeeze him, etc and Logan is very chill about it. Can't do that with Juneau. She'd go ballistic. She'll get all up in his grill to smell him, but she never lets him get close enough to touch her. On the other hand, whenever my adult son stops by to visit, she's so happy to see him that she tinkles... EVERY time. smh. Juneau is, however, a darned good watch dog. No one can approach this house or even walk down the sidewalk past our house without her letting us know.

That is heart breaking about #3...."She is not an affectionate dog at all". That would be tough to deal with.

Sounds to like your son just got another dog! haha just playing around
