the reason I say that is because I ran the check as well, before I hooked it up... and it showed me as getting 5 channels as well. Instead, I got 110 when I hooked it up.
It's been so long since I had over the air TV that I had not idea how it works today.... I noticed that.... just as an example, when I quit over the air TV there was a Channel 26, (other channels and it's the same with them), and today there is 26.1, 26.2, 26.3 etc. Each a different program.
I am NOT saying buy this unit and check.. it's too expensive. But you could, if you wished, buy an indoor antenna and hook that up and check, they are about $25. You'd have to place it very well to make sure you got good reception. They actually work just like that... comes with a very long antenna cord you hook directly to your TV.
What I was talking about in this post was a unit that you hook the antenna that broadcasts it to your WiFi... so the neither the antenna nor the unit are directly connected to your TV. - JamesJM
