I had just finished watching "It's A Wonderful Life'... as great as ever... and as frustrating as ever... my grandkids REFUSE to watch it. It's in Black and White.
So I head off to bed but I'm waxing nostalgic, BIG time... needed another 'fix'... put on "Casablanca". Frank, HOW is it possible for a movie, ANY movie, to simply keep getting better and better no matter how many times you watch it?
When Dooley Wilson begins "As Time Goes By" I'm jello. But even more...
because today I know every line in the movie.. and with each line... I swoon. There is not a single moment, second, of this film I can criticize. Not that I want too... I do not.
Mentioned this recently but a 'critique' I always receive when I bring up this move in conversation goes something like this: "Sure you like it, you are a homie for your generation"... EXCEPT, of course, I was NO PART of that generation... WAY before my day.
Ah well... I no longer rebel when accused of that... not worth it. - JamesJM
