Well that's not really wrong. They can be vicious. I've never been attacked while diving but I have been when around seals and sea lions. I recall spearfishing off the Coronado Islands (San Diego-Mexico) with a yellowtail on my stringer when a sea lion came at me and bit my fin and then tried to tear off the fish from my weight belt. It was really scary. I also recall a harbor seal biting my fin as I was swimming to shore. They do have really ferocious teeth and I've experienced several "charges" when diving over the years.
