after some more Dodger heartbreak.
Extremely bizarre managing by both managers today. Why Roberts went with his second best option from both his lefties and righties with the bases load was just weird. Blanton seemed like the obvious choice to come in instead of Baez and also Dayton over Avilan? Seemed obvious to me, and I would've said the same thing if they got out of it.
And then Dusty Baker running the righty Treinen to face FIVE consecutive lefties with Solis (4 scoreless innings in the series) ready to go is just bizarre to me. Pederson, who led off the inning had EIGHT hits against lefties the whole season while batting .125....and Utley, who had the game winning hit against the righty, batted .154 against lefties this year. Then after the Dodgers score the go ahead run, he brings in Solis to face one of our only left handed batters who can actually hit lefties, Seager who hit .250 against lefties this year.
Not sure if the workload from the previous day and overall in the series affected these decisions, but with the off day tomorrow, I don't think that should've affected much. A weird game, but we'll take it for sure.
And yeah, that call on Puig was terrible for sure.
