and yes if we were closer, I'd definitely like to throw some gutter balls with ya
If the trip happens it happens, it would be nice I know to see the sites but the way things go these days I may not be able to put the whole thing together.
No, I'm not doing train modeling anymore, my big layout was by far the most fun hobby I've ever indulged in and changing digs has brought all that to an end. If we hadn't of moved I probably would still be working on my layout. It was by far the best time spent and most rewarding hobby I've ever taken part in and it lasted for over 10 years. Creating it was like no other passion for modeling I've ever taken part in and believe me I've gotten involved in a ton of different what I call high end hobbies.
From RC gliders, engine powered RC planes, RC cars of all forms sizes and costs, model building of all varieties, I love just about any kind of small, meticulous time consuming building. Even though we now have an awesome craft room (mostly belongs to the War Dept. LOL ) I just don't have the luxury of a big dedicated room like I had for the train hobby.
I highly recommend and encourage modeling for anyone who has the urge, for kids especially I would really stress it especially if I could be an influence with input.
I just know if you took the time and touched on the train hobby with a bit more of a commitment you'd love it.
