Wilt's record of 100pts will fall some day. Dimaggio's hitting streak will be surpassed. It's only a matter of time.
But this last Saturday I saw something that puts witnessing the above record setting performances, or discovering alien life, to shame.
As you know in youth football teams, high school as well, and even in the Pros... it's somewhat tradition for the players to come back after halftime and run through a big banner and back onto the field. You're not going to believe what I'm about to tell you, and I don't blame you... I wouldn't believe it either. I SAW it and I don't believe it.
Our Mighty Mite team... ages 6-8, finished the halftime pep talk and came roaring back onto the field... the cheerleaders holding up the banner... onward they came, like the LIONS they are, each vying to be the first to break through the banner. I was filming it... and I could use the video as proof but you'd simply say I used CGI and faked what happened...
They broke through the banner AND, I'm almost embarrassed to say this knowing you will lose any trust in me that you ever had.... did it WITHOUT a pileup of 35 bodies squirming like one large mass of tangled torso's and limbs. Not a player went down.
I've been watching our Lion Mighty Mites come through banners for 10 years now.. never have I seen it performed without losing several players to injury. A massive pileup is like the sun coming up.. it's that 'normal', that 'expected', that 'inevitable'.
Wilt scoring 100? Mundane as missing the toilet compared to this feat.... I defy you, I triple dog dare you, to tell me you have ever been witness to anything remotely as fantastical.
Those boys are destined for greatness... all of them future NFL Hall Of Famers. Bank it. - JamesJM
