when I was very young I used to get car sick... but I grew out of it quickly.
Once I was over it that was it... I could go on the ocean, fly, go on wild rides... never any motion sickness. Every deep sea fishing trip I'd see em'... lying on the deck with their heads over the side... most miserable thing I've ever seen, and I felt very sorry for them. But we didn't come back in from fishing for them... nope, they just had to suffer through it, all day, until the fishing day was over.
I don't think I could do that today. I started 'regressing', I think, a couple of years ago when I noticed that on a ride in California Adventure I got to feeling not all that well. I didn't barf, or even come close to it, but I was not feeling my best. Since then I noticed it every so often... not every time I go on a ride, but it's not rare either. And on a few times since that first time I've got to thinking "I may barf"... although as yet I have not.
So I wouldn't go deep sea fishing today... not sure I could handle it. And the memory of those poor souls upchucking until they couldn't upchuck anymore and then just dry-heaving I believe enough to keep my feet firmly planted on land. - JamesJM
