You'd make a good grandpa....

That was my advice - - "Duck". spin tounge smiley

For the most part I'm not that worried. Kids that age are seldom extremely 'athletic'. I mean, they ARE, for their age... but at their age it's not like High School Years and later. It's rare indeed for any of the really big kids to get a solid, hard, tackle on the smaller and faster players. Nearly every tackle they make is either an arm tackle or more like wrestling them to the ground. LEAGUE WIDE, however...

There will be exceptions.

My 14 yr old back when he was a Junior player, same league as my 10yr old today, the one in the photos, played against a kid who was 12 and, (from memory so could be off an inch or so and a pound or two), was 6'2 and 270 AND pretty darned athletic. My grandson was 88lbs. Luckily this big kid was also quite slow but even so he sacked my grandson a few times and it was scary to watch.

What do you think sstrams.. is 'weight' no factor in injuries like the Mayo Clinic and every other health organization has said? - JamesJM
