Thank goodness looking back having the NFL Today at the time...we lived in WV and the only way to see teams outside of your televised area was through that show....
I do remember that game against the vikings that took us out of the playoffs. we went down to Ft. Lauderdale in those days for like 2 + weeks....my mom was a teacher and my dad was a professor.....so we took Christmas vacation down there.....I remember that game watching it in the room and going from super happy to tears......Tearing down the road in a T-Bird from WV to FLA....man my dad seemed to always have some neat rides....T-birds...Toronados'...Vettes...guess that's what got me into cars....
But man that team had some names....Alvin Haymond.....Marlin McKeever....Jack Pardee.....Myron Pottios....Football names.....Ritchie Pettibone....Pat Studstill....what was that kickers name.....he went on to the whiners after time.....Maxie Baughn.....Ken Iman....
Nice days for sure.....no the team never won the big one, but really the age I was at ......it just didn't really bug me like it did as I grew older.....kinda funny...the older I got the more the game went from pure enjoyment to times of some unknown need to watch terrible things.....
And the circle goes on....back to enjoyment again.....
