Interesting.
I've always wondered how this works when a player moves from one team to another before both teams meet. I would think that most teams would compel a "new employee" to do everything in his abilities to help his new team win, including sharing strategies, patterns, etc. about his former team. I've just assumed this is part of the game...
Perhaps not? Are there non-disclosure agreements in the NFL? Are clauses written into contracts? Anyone have any insight on this?
i have no insights but it seems unlikely to me that individual players would be under contractual non-disclosure when they are cut or their contract runs out and are picked up by another team. just seems logical.
as far as the article and video, i believe what happens on the record and in front of the camera and available to social media are usually distinct from what happens behind closed doors, face to face, verbally - in a team meeting, prepping for the upcoming opponent when the team needs the next win to stay ahead.
the thing about weddle is, what he could bestow upon the rams coaching staff of his general wisdom on what he's learned of nfl offenses and defenses over the years would far out weigh the value what he could say specifically about the ravens for one game. and i expect he will.
having expressed that, i expect weddle will spill his guts behind closed doors the week before the ravens game but we'll never hear about it . . .
