Don't get the want to get rid of Brockers........Brockers plays positions that don't need sacks as stats......the problem IMO fans have is they look at things like sacks and INT as the point of emphasis. Brock does so much that is not seen by stats like that....
.
But Brockers graded out poorly at all aspects last year. Forget about stats. He didn't tie up players well. He didn't create for others. He was average to below average starter metrics across the board.
I assume it's a system scheme. Maybe he was lazier because Suh was next to him. Maybe he wants the stats?
McCoy isn't a fit. I'm not sure Brockers is either. He's going to have to justify that salary.
You can bet that Wade knows whether MB is worth his contract. He had his best year as a pro at DE in 2017, and in 2018, I think he played hurt much of the season but gutted it out. There's a good chance that a recovered MB can be again what he was in 2017. WP wouldn't settle for less, I assume, plus they had a chance to sign a DE Wade had in Denver--Malik Jackson. Jackson's 2019 cap hit with the Eagles will be almost a third of what MB gets in 2019, but they stuck with MB. (Though MJ's whole contract is more than what he gets just in 2019, still--if they wanted to dump MB for someone who has played well for Wade before at the same position, and have that guy cost less than MB in 2019, they could have pursued Jackson. Near as I know they showed no interest in him. To me that's one of the things that signals how they still see value in MB.)
