he flat out isn't equipped to run the position...unless you're going to redefine the position.
Kittle...is a TE.
Ertz...is a TE.
Heck...Jared Cook is a TE.
They use their size, strength and mobility to block out defenders...create space...especially in the red zone...they can live in the middle of the field.
I'm telling you...the Rams do not use the middle of the field much. Watch the Patriots...they thrive in it. In part, they don't have that guy. Everett is a TE sized wide out. Look at how often he lines up on the outside. If he catches a pass, that is where it occurs 4.9 out of 5 times.
Last week vs. the Cowboys, I think McVay targeted the middle more than he has all year...but still...not like others.
When have you seen one of our TEs run the seam all year? I think the answer is zero.
