I've been playing a little game watching the playoffs. It's called "what if Goff had thrown that pass?"
O my goodness, would there be some bellyaching!!
Did you see Andrew Luck on Saturday? Passes were going everywhere, at the sidelines, in the dirt, at players ankles and knees.
It was horrible. And this guy was red hot before. And everyone was saying "look out for the Colts."
Foles started hot Sunday, then hit a very bad patch. They had the Saints down 14-0 and all he had to do was get a few more points to stay ahead of them.
A few field goals even would have done it.
And he got chance after chance after chance, and he kept crapping all over that dome.
Yeah, Jefferey dropped a pass at the end, but that excuse doesn't work for Goff here, so let's not use it for anyone else.
The Rams went 13-3, and are headed for the NFCC. It was a team effort. Goff didn't do it by himself. Gurley didn't do it by himself. Donald didn't do it by himself.
But Goff has done his part as a 24 year old in his 3rd year.
He may not have had a great game on Saturday, but he hit on some very nice throws, converted for some key 1st downs, protected the ball.
I trust McVay to know and account for his limitations as they still exist today. I also believe he gets more consistent in the future.
Ramily!
