Good worry vs. bad worry

I think I've seen what you're talking about. That said, I'm not sure it's a bad thing. Bad worry is when you play scared. I don't think that's what we're doing. Good worry is when you're willing to critically analyze what you're doing and make the appropriate adjustments based on what's going on. Good worry makes you actively think about what you're doing next. I think, if McVay is worried, it's good worry.
