Players are obviously in much better shape in todays game so yes that is a non factor for preseason but like every thing else money is all so a big factor. You play a star player and he gets hurt and is out for 6-8 games or worse the yr. that players cap hit does not go away. You are playing with dead cap money for that yr and unless you have a player of equal talent which you don't because the cap will not let you, you remain hinderd all yr. Football is a game where you have 11 on offense and 11 on defense that have to be on the same page like right now and with only 16 games you don't have a lot of time to wait on your units to get it right. You got to be smart but your ones have to have it all together from the get go if you want to contend
