What if the offense converts a couple more firsts downs a game and the defense gets a couple more stops a game ... then the offense will be able to run more plays!
In 2017 the Rams ran on average 62.6 plays per game. That was 19th in the league. The top 8 team averaged between 66.1 and 67.5 plays a game. What if the Rams landed in the middle of that bunch: 66.8 plays per game. That's an additional 4.2 plays per game ... which works out to 67 more plays over the course of the season. The Rams could target Cooks more than they targeted Watkins and also feed a lot more balls to the TEs in 2017 without taking any touches away from anyone else!!

Additionally, Goff was 16th in the league in completion percentage among players with at least 200 attempts at 62.1. [
www.nfl.com] If he cracks the top 10 (64.2%) and throws 67 more passes his number of completions will go from 296 to 349. That's 53 more receptions to divvy up among Cooks and the TEs without taking a single catch away from anyone else.
That's some fine number crunching right there Albany! Nice work.
