Seems we are trading for players with one year left and signing Suh to one year. Is this is a strategy to stock up and then evaluate and keep the best of the best and let the others walk and get back a decent compensatory pick?
It could very much be about going all in for this year and getting value and players any way you can, but it could also be a very intentional strategy to maximize comp picks.
I do know Snead has mentioned trading away picks in a weak draft (for Barron) and trying to stock up picks in a strong draft. I would not put it past Snead to have deemed this years draft weak and so he is willing to let these picks go. One thing to watch to see if he values next years draft much more then this years is to see what happens with the 6th rounders. Are they packaged and used to move up or traded away for picks next year? Of course we did just swap one for a 4th this year, so there goes one 6th rounder.
lf we replace high priced players with 3rd round picks over and over again in order to keep the cheap talent churning through, could be very intentional. We shall see.
