screwing up the #2 overall pick is screwing up the #2 overall pick.
We have not won 1 playoff game with Snead aboard.
I think what gets me about that pick, a pick I hated before it was made, was all the other facts that came to light afterwards which would have led you to pass on Robinson. I talking whoppers.
He picked potential and potential only with that pick. He did it with Quick and now I believe he did it with Everett.
He sees athleticism and salivates. He sees it and misses the production. He knows we need help now and drafts developmental guys early.
That is my biggest issue with Les Snead. He had a treasure trove of top picks.
I'll say this although I don't have proof. If Watkins see 120 targets last year, hew would have been 1,000 yard receiver, had with 65+ catches and 12+ TDs. But...it's water under the bridge now. We need to figure out how to replace his TDs, his red zone ability and speed with what we have and what we can get.
I give no GM a pass on missing on a top 5 pick...especially on one who they knew wasn't ready. Call me unreasonable. There is only one position where you draft in the top 5 having to get a player ready...and that's QB.
