I never understood all these, “Snead should be fired, Snead is the best” posts. The GM role isn’t what it used to be as a whole and even more so in certain organizations today.
There are a handful of guys making these decisions for the Rams, Snead, McVay, Demoff, Etc..
If the Rams draft heavy on the defense, Wade Phillips will be a huge part of that decision making. They wouldn’t just become, “Snead’s draft picks hits and misses”
Even during the Fisher regime there was some collective group personnel decisions, but we know Fisher had final say on them and for the most part we know a good amount of the draft picks and feee agents that were his (Finnegan, Hayes, Brockers, Tru Jo, Jenkins, Joyner, etc, etc)
Snead definitely has more say now with Fisher gone, but he’s not a so called GM with, “full control”. it’s defintely 100% a collective group decision in which everyone is involved.
Ie)don’t kill Snead over not re-signing Watkins. It was a collective group decision.
