I think you're thinking too deeply about this. If Watkins was a square peg in a round hole type fit for McVay’s O, then the Rams wouldn't make a significant offer to him.
So we shall see what they do. If they make an offer, they think he's a great fit.
The way Snead and McVay have talked about him in the off season, I suspect they see him as a marvelous fit.
