I originally was leaning towards not releasing Quinn or Barron but then I realized that for not much less than Barron's cost, they could get Bowman or Anthony Hitchens who were both very good against the run according to PFF. They would both likely come in the $3M to $5M range.

I like Barron. But the thought of Bowman? Had to do it!

Finding edge rusher's in free agency is very iffy. A good one will cost more than Quinn.

I like Longacre but don't want him starting full time. He got numbers but from what I can tell, he didn't create pressure. He got those sacks mostly in cleanup duty when Donald flushed the QB to him. Quinn, OTOH, when he's on, he actually creates pressure. That's why I opted to keep him.

It's possible that they retain both. If they wanted to retain both, they could do this exact plan but scratch off Bowman and Cockrell.
