It's a collaborative effort. Snead made that clear when he was talking about "getting in the bunker with McVay"
They spent a lot of time getting on the same page and Snead sounded happy about it after the draft.
McVay made it clear what he was looking for and Snead took that information and worked it into his process.
McVay wasn't going to dictate to Snead what specific players they were going to get. He may have suggested players that he had experiences with, but it wasn't going to be like Fisher when he started pulling guys from his old Titans team.
At this point, they has enough success with the current method that it continues with Snead maintaining more control than he had with Fisher, probably a lot more.
It wasn't just McVay and in fact it was obvious from what Snead said that McVay was only giving insight into the kind of offensive skill players his system needed.
Phillips was involved too and Snead commented on that interaction also.
And so was Kromer though in this case it led to the decision not to draft any OL in 2017.
In other words it was collaborative all the way around.
And. It was the exact same under Fisher. Snead just continued the kind of collaborative process he had always been involved in with the Rams.
