The options are finite...

We can:

1. Keep him for 2017, and hope he stays healthy and produces;

2. Try to trade him now; or

3. Cut him.

Option 2 is unlikely, given his recent health and the size of his contract through 2019.

Option 2 is absurd, in my opinion, given the dead cap and the lack of a better option.

Option 1 is the only one that makes sense, as far as I'm concerned.
