Sure the Rams would love to sign Aaron for Suh money or Watt Money but they have to think about what they can afford to do and
not put themselves in bind. Janoris Jenkins is not a 65 million dollar Cornerback.
Grits
If they want that Grits it's a mistake.
The way the market works contracts go up. Suh money is no longer enough.
An example from another position. QB. Recently Carr signed a deal for 25 M a year. 2 years ago Wilson signed for 21 M a year.
Do you really think Carr is "worth more" than Wilson? Well it's irrelevant whether he is or isn't. A contract is just what the market dictates. And the market dicates that if you don't pay Carr that money another team will. And, the market also dictates that contracts go up.
The market says Donald's contract should be higher than Suh's. That';s not even mentioning the fact that Donald is better than Suh.
So do I want the Rams to be a cheap team that like their Georgia Frontierre past lowballs elite players?
No I don't want that.
....
There is a flaw in your reasoning, zn.
AD is not a UFA yet. Won't be for another 2-4 years, either. That's beyond HUGE.
Yet you seem to have a blind spot toward it. You continually ignore the single most important thing in these negotiations.
The single thing that gives the Rams ALL of the leverage.
Fascinating to watch...
