Not a doubt in my mind that Fisher wanted GRob at 2.
Snead has said time and again that you get starting OL in the 4th round onward. Don't think he's a fan of taking OL, even LOT, with a high 1st round pick.

Notice that with Fisher gone, the Rams selected no OL, but then went out signed a couple of UDFA OL, and at least one them they have a clear belief that he will make the team.

Why anyone would think that Fisher wasn't in charge of draft and personnel top to bottom I don't know. He, essentially, chose Snead as his "GM".

Until this year, we had Fisher drafts. Snead just held the bag.

This year, clearly it was more a Snead draft as McVay made it quite public that he deferred to Snead in such matters. Of course, Snead also made it clear that McVay defines the attributes he seeks for each position. But finding that player is Sneads job, and it is sort of collaborative PICKING that player.

There is no other reason for firing Fisher and keeping Snead. Kroenke and Demoff of course knew who was calling the shots.

I don't follow your reasoning and to me it does not add up.

For one thing they did not select OL this year because they directly said the class was weak and there would be no real upgrades.

For another we know Boudreau pounded the table for Robinson.
