An extension, if they do it this year, doesn't have to come out of this year's cap. It all depends on how they structure it. They can set it up so a lot of it comes out of
next year's cap in the form of guaranteed money.
As of right now, assuming a cap of 178 M, the Rams have 67+ M free in 2018 cap space. In 2019, they have 110+ M free.
